The Humane Society of Tampa Bay joins a growing list of agencies helping out during the government shutdown. Free food will be available with proof of ownership at the shelter on Armenia Avenue weekday from noon to 7 pm, and weekends 10 am to 5 pm.
Food stamp benefits will be available to Floridians in February but in a slightly different way. It's going to be a lump sum payment at the end of this month. That's due to the government shutdown.
There's a new scam targeting SunPass users. A warning from FDOT says fake emails are being sent from the address SunPassNotice@ezpass-collections.net. FDOT does not send past due notices through email and if you've received one and would like to let them know go to www.SunPass.com , or call the SunPass Customer Service Center at 1-888-865-5352.
